New technologies for young people’s SRH in Ivory Coast

A winning Learning Competition entry by Rachel Alessandri on young people’s sexual and reproductive health in Ivory Coast.
 
 

In Ivory Coast, 38.4% of the population is under 15 years old. Currently, 31.9% of 20 to 24 year-olds have had a child before the age of 18, 20% of women and 14% of men have sex before the age of 15 and contraceptive prevalence among young people does not exceed 13.9%.

Action Against Hunger, in close collaboration with the National Programme in charge of Youth and Adolescents, proposed three complimentary strategies to respond to the information and communication needs of young people on their health.
